SOKOTO – The Chairman of the Sokoto Rima River Basin Development Authority (SRRBDA) Governing Board, Hon. Bello Yahaya Wurno, has expressed his dedication to meeting the expectations set by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Hon. Yahaya Wurno made these remarks in a statement he personally signed and presented to the press in Sokoto on Tuesday.

In the statement, the SRRBDA Chairman assured stakeholders in the catchment areas of Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, and Katsina states that he would work tirelessly to restore the glory of the River Basin Authority with renewed vigor and productivity.

The statement reads in part, “I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation and acknowledge the kind support and assistance I have received throughout the process of my appointment. I am particularly grateful to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, FCNA, and to the distinguished leader of the State APC, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko (Sarkin Yakin Sokoto). Their unwavering support has been instrumental, and I also extend my thanks to all those who sent messages of goodwill and solidarity. I am deeply honored by your encouragement.”

“It is important to recognize that this appointment, facilitated by Governor Ahmed Aliyu and Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, is not just a personal achievement but an honor bestowed upon the entire people of Sokoto State. As such, I rely on your continued prayers, support, and cooperation to help us succeed in this significant responsibility.”

Hon. Yahaya Wurno continued by commending the efforts of the Sokoto State government under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Aliyu, expressing hope for even greater success and recognition in the future. He highlighted the Governor’s steadfast commitment to ensuring the dividends of democracy reach every part of Sokoto State and facilitating key national appointments for individuals from Sokoto.

“Our collaborative efforts in the areas of food security, poverty reduction, empowerment, and accelerated rural economic development will remain top priorities. These initiatives are essential for the growth and prosperity of our communities, and I look forward to working with all stakeholders in this regard,” the Chairman emphasized.

The SRRBDA Chairman also assured the public that the new management of the authority is fully committed to meeting the objectives set out by the governing board. He mentioned that a strong and capable team has been assembled, one that is prepared to elevate the authority to new heights, Insha Allah.

“We are confident in our ability to achieve remarkable success in the coming years with this team in place. I remain committed to this cause and look forward to working together with all of you to make a lasting impact. May Allah (SWA) guide our efforts and bless our work,” he added.

Hon. Yahaya Wurno concluded his statement by expressing his gratitude for the unwavering support and goodwill he has received. He assured the people of Sokoto State that with continued prayers and cooperation, the SRRBDA would fulfill its responsibilities with dedication and integrity.
