Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the March 2023 gubernatorial polls in Delta, Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi has congratulated Mr. Austin Avuru on his appointment into the management team of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited as a non-executive director by President Bola Tinubu.

Osanebi in a statement signed by his Principal Secretary, Idi Presley, described the appointment of Mr. Avuru as a round peg in a round hole, stating that he’s certain Avuru’s  40 years wealth of experience in the Oil and Gas industry will be key in shaping the future of the NNPC.

“My dear elder brother Avuru, I want to heartily congratulate you on your appointment into the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s will(NNPC) Limited as a non-executive director by Mr. President.

“This appointment is a testament that your wealth of experience and technical know how in their oil and gas industry hasn’t gone unnoticed.

“I charge you to make Ndokwa Nation proud by contributing your quota to President Tinubu’s vision of increasing investment in the oil industry to $30 billion by 2027 and $60 billion by 2030”, the statement read.

Osanebi also congratulated Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari who was appointed the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) as well as Ahmadu Musa Kida who emerged the non-executive chairman and other members of the management team.
