Apostolic Presbyter of Christ Global Network (CGN), Inc., Archbishop Taiwo Akinola, has called on Nigerians to unite and work diligently towards building a peaceful and united nation.
He emphasized that Nigeria’s unity is crucial, especially amid rising insecurity and socio-political challenges.
Archbishop Akinola made the call while addressing journalists at the Champion Peace Cathedral, Rhema Christian Church & Towers, in Sango-Ota, ahead of the 2025 edition of the New Wine Fire Conference organized by CGN. The conference is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2025, and is themed “Show Me Your Glory” (Exodus 33:18-19).
Referencing the recent Uromi killings, Archbishop Akinola extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the people of Kano, and other affected communities. He stressed the urgent need for justice and a comprehensive security response.
The cleric condemned the growing trend of regional threats and ethnic profiling in the country and urged government agencies to act swiftly to curb such incitement.
“We want to use this opportunity to plead with all Nigerians to stop issuing threats and provocative ultimatums across regional divides,” he said.
“This has unfortunately become the stock-in-trade of some intolerant individuals, and it serves no positive purpose.”
Highlighting the spiritual importance of the upcoming New Wine Fire Conference, Archbishop Akinola—who also serves as the Founding President of Rhema Christian Church & Towers—said the event has evolved into a transformative spiritual gathering.
“The New Wine Fire Conference is a key initiative under CGN, aimed at igniting revival, winning souls, and equipping believers to walk in the fullness of God’s power,” he explained.
“Since its inception in 2019 at the National Stadium in Lagos, the conference has grown significantly, drawing thousands from across Nigeria and beyond. Each edition has been marked by powerful teachings, prophetic ministrations, and undeniable demonstrations of God’s presence.”
This year’s conference will feature a lineup of renowned gospel ministers, including:
Bishop Mrs. Ireti Akinola
Bishop Joshua Nissi
Bishop Dr. Abiodun Akinteye
Bishop Israel Alaya
Bishop Ademola Olurounbi
Bishop Justice Dozzy Ikechukwu
…and other anointed ministers of the gospel.
