The Nigeria Christian Civil Chaplain Corps has reiterated its commitment to holding a monthly National Security Prayer Summit, aimed at offering prayers for the nation’s security and fostering peace and harmony among Nigerians, despite the country’s diversity.

Speaking with journalists on Thursday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, the Commanding Officer of the Corps, Daniel Joe Alimi, emphasized the significance of the summit. He noted that the 19th edition, themed “Nigeria Must Pray,” took place at Km 13, Gidan Magoro, Nyanya Karshi Expressway, Abuja, from February 7th to 8th, 2025.

Alimi explained that the prayer summit is a call to action for Christians to unite in prayer for the nation’s security challenges, stressing that the power of prayer in transforming a nation cannot be overemphasized.

“The monthly prayer summit is organized to seek divine intervention in Nigeria’s security situation and to ensure that peace continues to reign in our country. We believe that prayer has the power to bring about transformation and lasting peace,” he said.

Describing the two-day Abuja summit as a huge success, Alimi noted:

**”During the event, Christian leaders, government officials, captains of industry, business executives, royal fathers, top politicians, and security agencies gathered to earnestly pray for Nigeria’s security and overall well-being.

“Despite the economic challenges confronting our nation, we remain steadfast in our responsibility to ensure peace and harmonious coexistence in Nigeria.”**

Alimi further explained that the Corps is a non-denominational Christian organization providing chaplaincy services to Christians across the country. He reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to continued prayers until security challenges, especially terrorism, become a thing of the past.

He also highlighted that the Corps comprises highly disciplined and biblically trained soldiers of Christ, dedicated to achieving the organization’s mission. He commended the Commanding Officer of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Chukwudumbie Chukwuemeka, and his team for their tireless efforts in ensuring the summit’s success.

The Abuja security prayer summit featured prophetic prayer sessions, keynote presentations, and discussions on “The Role of Faith in Promoting National Security,” among other activities.
