
…Says his policies showing positive impact on Amnesty Program

Urhobo Youth Council (UYC) Abuja Chapter, under the leadership of General Peter Aghogho, has commended the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) Administrator, Chief Dr Dennis Otuaro, for his instrumental role in advancing the amnesty initiative, drumming up greater support for the amnesty boss.
Speaking at a gathering after Chief Otuaro’s engagement with Bayelsa’s first-phase leaders, General Peter Aghogho acknowledged the positive impact of the PAP Administrator’s policies.
He emphasized that these policies have contributed immensely to stability, economic growth, and the rehabilitation of former militants in the Niger Delta region.
“The Amnesty Programme, originally designed to address militancy and unrest, has made remarkable progress under Chief Dennis Otuaro’s leadership. His strategic approach with focus on skill acquisition, educational empowerment, and economic reintegration has transformed the lives of ex-agitators. “, he said.
“Many former militants, who once relied on armed struggle, have now embraced legitimate means of livelihood, demonstrating the effectiveness of Otuaro’s policies.”, he added.
General Peter stressed that through Chief Otuaro’s commitment, many beneficiaries of the amnesty programme have successfully transitioned into productive members of society. He further stressed the importance of continued support for Chief Otuaro’s initiatives to ensure even greater success in the future.
The Urhobo Youth Council Chairman also warned those agitating for Chief Otuaro’s removal to desist from such actions, stating that their efforts will amount to nothing given the evident success of his leadership.
He urged all stakeholders to rally behind Otuaro’s vision for the programme, emphasizing that his policies are fostering long-term peace and sustainable development.
Addressing recent allegations of misappropriation and financial impropriety against Chief Otuaro, the UYC Abuja Chapter categorically dismissed such claims as unfounded.” Under Otuaro’s leadership, the programme has introduced significant reforms aimed at promoting transparency and accountability.”, he said.
“The PAP boss has eliminated fraudulent payments to certain ex-agitators who previously exploited the system, Chief Otuaro, has ensured that funds are utilized efficiently for skill development and reintegration” he added.
The UYC urged the public to disregard the baseless allegations and instead focus on the programme’s tangible achievements and contributions to peace and development in the Niger Delta.
The Urhobo Youth Council also used this opportunity to call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside all well-meaning Nigerians, to support the Presidential Amnesty Programme and its efforts to promote peace and development in the Niger Delta region.
The UYC reaffirmed its commitment to working alongside other stakeholders to ensure the programme’s objectives are fully achieved, despite attempts by detractors to undermine its progress.
“With continued support, the Presidential Amnesty Programme will remain a pillar of stability, ensuring a brighter future for the region and contributing to national peace and development”, he said.
