The executive committee members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Mushin Local Branch has paid a familiarization visit to Prince Kolade Roberts, the CEO of APOI Investment Nigeria Limited for partnership on how to engage meaningfully with the youths living in Mushin.
The courtesy visit was on the need to collaborate with the private sector in ensuring that the long term goals of the youthful body in Mushin is achieved. It was a robust discussion, as the body tabled its proposal for partnership with the company, especially as they are counting down to their forthcoming programme on the negative effects of drug abuse in the Mushin community.
This engagement became necessary considering the numerous contributions and effort Prince Roberts has made out of passion to ensure a better future for the youths in Mushin.
In a media chat with Prince Robert, he said, “youths are the leaders of tomorrow and if we don’t equip them with the necessary tools our society will be uncomfortable to live in. It requires collaborative efforts. If we don’t equip them, many of them will take to drugs, armed robbery, rituals and insecurity will take over our environment as we are seeing today”.
According to Prince Robert, “the future of this country is very important so that our unborn generations can have a place to live and become proud of it. The only way to secure it is to engage our youths meaningfully through quality education, skill acquisition”.
Continuing, Prince Robert said, “I appreciate the responsible youths, while pledging to partner and mentor them going forward as I am also a Moonshiner. This is not the first partnership or mentorship programme I have engaged myself in. I have always supported donation and several other ways to ensure that our youths are positioned for good employment, self-reliance etc. And this is one sure means we can eradicate poverty, unemployment among our youths and the society at large”.
