This weekend’s playlist promises an eclectic selection of new tracks, groundbreaking albums, and emerging artists ready to shake up your musical world in the United States and beyond. From infectious pop hooks to heartfelt country tunes, hip-hop jams, and irresistible Afrobeats rhythms, this list boasts something for every taste and occasion.

Whether you’re looking to unwind with a smooth ballad or amp up your Friday night with a lively anthem, this roundup provides a carefully curated soundtrack for your listening pleasure.

American singer-songwriter Ademola Adeleke, professionally known as Ardykwait, conveys gyrations, vibes, and happiness with a new song titled “Alujanjankijan,” an Afropop tune featuring lush pads, percussions, and melodies. Produced by LayKay Beats, Ardykwait also took to his million-followers Instagram account to tease the release of the music video, coming up in April.

The American rapper and singer just released his ninth studio album, “Deep Thoughts,” and has been jailed since October 2024, when he was arrested on murder-for-hire charges related to the 2022 killing of Saviay’a “Lul Pab” Robinson. He has pleaded not guilty and is currently awaiting trial.

Durk recently gave fans a heartfelt update, letting them know he’s staying strong and will be back soon. After dropping his new album Deep Thoughts, the rapper took to Instagram with a message full of love and gratitude.

“I wasn’t going to put this out, but then I remembered the streets need this,” he wrote. “Not being outside with y’all when I drop is hard. But I know I will feel y’all’s love and energy through these walls.”

While Lil Durk hasn’t provided full details on his ongoing legal issues related to an alleged 2022 murder-for-hire plot targeting a rival rapper in Los Angeles, he remains hopeful for a strong return.

Will Smith — “Based on a True Story”

His first album in 20 years, “Based on a True Story,” is the fifth studio album by American actor and rapper Will Smith. It was released on Friday, March 28, 2025, via Slang Recordings.
