As the Lagos State University, LASU convocation approaches, scheduled from April 3rd to 10th, the management has outlined the necessary documents for graduates to collect their certificates.
According to a statement made available to Vanguard, “Graduates of Lagos State University’s Full-Time Programme, Open and Distance Learning and Research Institute, ODLRI, and the Sandwich Degree from Ojo Campus are hereby notified of the documents required for certificate collection during the 28th Convocation of the University, taking place between April 3rd and 10th, 2025.”
The required documents are as follows:
- Original Notification of Result (or Payment Receipt)
- Duly Completed Online Graduating Students Clearance Form
- Payment Receipt of ₦53,500 for Certificate & Convocation Package
- Recent Academic Profile
- Alumni Payment Receipt – ₦1,000
- Faculty Clearance to prove return/non-collection of Academic Gown and Cap
- Valid Means of Identification (NIN/Driver’s License/LASSRA/Voter’s Card/International Passport)
For graduates from the Abeokuta, Ilesa, and Oyo campuses, the following documents are required:
- Original Notification of Results (or Payment Receipt)
- Duly Signed Clearance Letter from the Affiliated Institution
- Proof of Payment for Online Clearance
- Payment Receipt of N53,500 for Certificate & Convocation Package
- Recent Academic Profile
- Alumni Payment Receipt – N1,000
- Directorate of Sandwich Degree Clearance to prove return/non-collection of Academic Gown and Cap
- Valid Means of Identification (NIN/Driver’s License/LASSRA/Voter’s Card/International Passport)
In an unrelated development, all staff members of Lagos State University have been mandated to resume in-person work following the cancellation of the work-from-home policy by the Lagos State Public Service.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, issued a signed statement shared by Deputy Registrar/Coordinator of the CIPR, Thomas-Onashile Oluwayemisi, informing staff of the cancellation.
Part of the release stated, “The Vice-Chancellor has directed that staff members of the University be informed of the cancellation of the work-from-home initiative in the Lagos State Public Service.”
This decision follows a directive from the Lagos State Government, as outlined in a circular referenced CIR/HOS/’25/VOL.1/007 from the Public Service Office, dated February 11, 2025, and signed by the Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro.
The circular read, “Furtherance to the implementation of the New Minimum Wage in the State Public Service and other commendable measures put in place by this administration to improve the welfare and well-being of public servants in Lagos State, it is hereby notified for general information that Mr. Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has approved the cancellation of the work-from-home initiative in the Lagos State Public Service.”
According to the circular, this cancellation, which has been in effect since February 2024, will be implemented starting on March 31, 2025.
In light of this, all staff members of Lagos State University (both Teaching and Non-Teaching) are expected to fully comply with the directive, rededicate themselves to their work, and strive for improved service delivery at the university.
For emphasis, all staff are to resume full working days and hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) starting Monday, March 31, 2025.
