Kelechi Eke adds another venture to his portfolio

By Benjamin Njoku

Kelechi Eke, a renowned filmmaker and founder of The African Film Festival (TAFF) and Village Arts and Film Festival (VILLAFFEST), has added another venture to his portfolio – bread baking.

Eke’s new business, Ihemba Bread, is located in Owerri, Imo State, and has already provided employment to 26 youths in the community.

Eke, who has been in Nigeria since December, stated that he decided to establish the bakery to contribute to reducing unemployment at the grassroots level and give back to society.

The bakery offers various bread products and sizes, named after African royalty and inspired by Eke’s love for Africa and his mother, Ugoji.

By investing in Nigeria, Eke is responding to the federal government’s call for Nigerians in the diaspora to return home and invest to boost the country’s economy.
