Vera Peters wins ₦100,000 as PITO nite 2024 celebrates Ososo’s rich culture

The Ososo Cultural and Vocational Centre buzzed with life as PITO NITE 2024 celebrated the town’s rich cultural tapestry, drawing dignitaries, cultural enthusiasts, and performers to a vibrant night of folklore, artistry, and tradition.

The headline event of the evening, the Folklore Challenge, saw six contestants showcasing Nigeria’s diverse cultural heritage through captivating storytelling and performances. After an intense competition judged by Rita Alao (Mikado), Lovina Abisoye, Nicholas Oyime Samuel, and Robert Abdullahi, Vera Peters emerged victorious, clinching the grand prize of ₦100,000. Ruth Dania and Victoria Ajibola secured the second and third spots, earning ₦30,000 and ₦20,000, respectively.

The Okuedu III of Ososo, HRM Oba Bamidele Obaitan, led a distinguished lineup of guests, including Hon. Emmanuel Agbaje (Emilo), Dr. Afe Joseph Otaru, FIQS, High Chief Ajaga Buoro, and Dave Jegede, underscoring the event’s importance to Ososo’s cultural preservation.

Beyond the competition, the audience was treated to electrifying musical performances by star artists such as Zealano, HakuZion, DSman, Young Omoh, and Dbaba Osha, whose energy lit up the venue, adding to the night’s excitement.

A significant highlight was the unveiling of the 4th edition of PITO Magazine, a literary and cultural milestone that serves as a platform for storytelling and promoting Ososo’s heritage.

The event not only celebrated Ososo’s cultural richness but also spotlighted emerging talent and strengthened community bonds. PITO NITE 2024, hailed as a resounding success, reaffirmed its role in preserving and promoting local traditions while inspiring future generations.
