Former Deputy Senate President Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has expressed shock over Sunday’s fire disaster that led to the death of a yet-to-be-determined number of people when a tanker laden with fuel crashed and exploded into a fireball in Agbor, Delta State.
In a statement issued by his Media Adviser, Sunny Areh, Senator Omo-Agege regretted the circumstances that led to the disaster, urging the government of Delta State to urgently come to the aid of the injured people and families of the victims.
He said medical facilities should be fully mobilised to provide succour to those requiring treatment.
“It is a huge disaster losing many people at the turn of the new year. I feel the pain of those directly affected by the disaster. I urge the state government to come to their aid because this sort of accident is never scripted and no effort should be spared in providing support and succour to them,” Omo-Agege said.
