In a bid to foster collaboration between the corporate and educational sectors, NEM Insurance Plc welcomed the Rector of Yaba College of Technology, Yabatech, Dr. Ibraheem Abdul, to their Lagos headquarters.

The visit marked a significant step toward developing cooperative initiatives aimed at enhancing the educational experiences of students while meeting the evolving demands of the job market.

During the meeting, the Managing Director of NEM Insurance, Mr. Andrew Ikekhua, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We recognize the critical role that education plays in shaping Nigeria’s future. On his part, Dr. Abdul noted YabaTech’s commitment to equipping students with the skills required in today’s competitive environment.

Both leaders discussed a range of innovative projects that could benefit YabaTech students. Among the proposals is the introduction of internship opportunities at NEM Insurance, which would provide students with hands-on experience in the insurance and financial services sectors.

Additionally, they spoke about developing specialized courses in risk management and insurance, as well as customized training programs aimed at enhancing real-world skills.

Chairman of NEM Insurance, Mr Tope Smart, also reinforced the company’s commitment to these initiatives, saying, “We are fully dedicated to supporting YabaTech’s proposed projects. Your aspirations are secure with us, and together, we can reach significant milestones that will benefit both YabaTech and NEM Insurance.”
