National Assembly Member Representing Abak/Etim-Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency in Akwa Ibom State and Deputy Chairman, House Committee on National Planning, Honourable Clement Jimbo a.k.a. ‘Youth Slot’ has empowered his constituents with 15 tonnes of tipper automobiles.

Jimbo, who had earlier empowered over 250 constituents from Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency with N80,000 (Eighty thousand naira) cash gifts for each individual, totalling twenty million naira for beneficiaries to venture into an agriculture programme of their choice after participating in free agro-allied venture and certifications training he sponsored, stressed that the betterment of the people, especially members of Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency, is paramount to him.

In a bid to reduce unemployment and restiveness among youth, Jimbo sponsored the training of several youths on ICT and empowerment with laptops each.

Jimbo also facilitated the grading of rural roads across Nung Oku Ikot, Ikot Edet, Nto Unang, and Uruk Ata Ikot Akpan villages in the Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.

To improve brightness and intensify security for road users who pass through Abak to Uyo at night, the lawmaker procured not less than 39 stands of solar-powered street lights. Thirty stands of the streetlight were installed along Ediene Old Road, while nine of them are strategically installed at Health Centre Road, Ibanang Ediene, both in Abak Local Government Area.

Presenting the Tipper and documents to the Tipper Loaders Association of Nigeria, Abak Chapter, Jimbo said the gesture is in fulfilment of his campaign promises as well as to put smiles on the faces of families by putting food on their tables. He said tipper is a lucrative business and will help members in loading their product, hence helping in the haulage business.

He appreciated the association’s unwavering support during his electioneering campaign, assuring them that this empowerment is just the beginning, with plans to provide another tipper next year if the current one is managed properly and meets the expected outcomes.

Responding to Mr. Ndipmong Uwem William, President of the Tipper Loaders Association, Abak Chapter, praised Honourable Clement Jimbo for the historic empowerment, promising to take good care of the tipper under his leadership and ensuring its optimal utilisation.

On his part, Dr. Uduak Utibe, President of Ediene Development Union, commended Representative Clement Jimbo for making the Ediene indigenes proud through his unwavering commitment and numerous empowerment initiatives, including the 15-tonne tipper, which will greatly benefit the community.

Dr. Nsikan Umanah, former President of the Tipper Loaders Association, on his part thanked Jimbo for the uncommon empowerment and encouraged the loaders to further their education, recalling his own experiences as a loader while in school and highlighting the importance of education.

Elder Samuel Usoro, President of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Lagos, moved a motion for Honourable Clement Jimbo’s re-election, acknowledging his commitment to the less privileged in the sector and his dedication to their welfare.

Members of the Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika testified that Rep. Jimbo has proven that youth leadership in Nigeria is not only viable but also essential for the nation’s progress.

His words: ‘Honourable Clement Jimbo is transforming Abak/Etim Ekpo Federal Constituency, bringing the dividend of democracy to the people. His achievements, dedication, and commitment to his constituents have demonstrated that young leaders can enact real change.
