Drop Innovations Limited, a cutting-edge ride hailing application specifically designed to transform the transportation landscape in Nigeria has debuted in Lagos.
The ride sharing application owned by Drop Innovations Limited was officially launched at a colourful ceremony in Victoria Island, Lagos on Thursday. The event included a live demonstration of the application features, networking and refreshments.
Founder & CEO of Drop Innovations Limited, Moyosore Oladeinde stated that Drop application is solely focused on excellent service delivery through global best practices. She also said the company plans to liase with other partners in a quest to finance new vehicles for prospective drivers who meet certain requirements. The CEO also said she delved into the industry with an intent to right some of the wrongs and lapses she personally experienced as a rider over time.
“I came into this system with a background knowledge of what other e-hailing cab companies lack. I had a terrible experience with a certain company. I tried contacting their customer care to resolve the issue but I met with brick walls. I waited for them to make corrections. But they did not. So, I decided I might as well just do it. Then again, there is no wrong time to do the right thing. So, why not”? She stated.
She also hinted that the business is self funded at this time but would be open to working with other partners in the future. She said drivers’ operational manipulation of riders on the platform will be reduced to the barest minimum through automation of processes and close monitoring of drivers.
“One thing we shall do differently is with drivers vetting procedures. The company will be as thorough with that as the commercial banks do with knowing their customers. This will involve updated biometrics and other security measures, expecially with the drivers”, she said.
She also said the company is in talks with some car dealing companies to provide vehicles for drivers on a finance arrangements which will be fully paid in five years. This move is expected to reduce vehicle breakdowns and also help the drivers deliver better. She also added that Drop Innovations Limited intends to commence operations with one thousand vehicles each in Lagos, Ibadan and Abuja in the first Six months of operation.
