….Advocates Equitable Tax System to Ease Financial Burden on Nigerians

Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for implementing transformative economic reforms, which he described as yielding significant benefits for Nigeria.

Speaking on President Tinubu’s tax reforms, Matawalle highlighted their potential to create a fairer tax system, enhance government revenue, and simultaneously reduce financial pressures on ordinary citizens and small businesses.

“President Tinubu’s tax reforms aim to simplify the tax administration process, making it easier for individuals and businesses to comply. These reforms will stimulate investment, create jobs, and foster sustainable economic growth,” he said.

Matawalle credited the reforms with driving economic recovery, emphasizing that they lay the foundation for long-term development by broadening the tax base and promoting a business-friendly environment conducive to entrepreneurship and innovation.

Addressing criticism, particularly from some quarters in Northern Nigeria, Matawalle urged critics to adopt a constructive approach and support President Tinubu’s efforts to revitalize the nation’s economy.

“It is crucial for Nigerians to stand united behind Mr. President, who is diligently working to implement effective policies, programs, and reforms. Divisive narratives only hinder our progress as a nation,” he stated.

In addition to economic reforms, Matawalle commended President Tinubu’s efforts in strengthening national security. He cited significant improvements, including the provision of modern military hardware, timely payment of allowances, and salary increases for military personnel, which he said have greatly boosted morale.

“Under President Tinubu’s leadership, we are witnessing a renewed commitment to the safety and well-being of Nigerians. His administration’s focus on equipping the military underscores this commitment,” Matawalle added.

Matawalle called on Nigerians to recognize the strides being made under President Tinubu’s leadership, stressing the importance of collective support for ongoing reforms aimed at fostering economic and social development.

“The President’s efforts are driving change across various sectors, from security to economic stabilization. These achievements should be acknowledged and supported as they pave the way for a brighter future for all Nigerians.”

Matawalle’s remarks reflect the government’s confidence in the trajectory of its reforms and its appeal for national unity to maximize their impact.
