On November 24, 2024, Onitsha came alive as the Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium hosted the highly anticipated second edition of the JERIQ Hood Concert.
Spearheaded by Nigerian hip-hop star JeriQ, the event drew a staggering crowd of over 20,000 fans, celebrating the fusion of music, culture, and the rapper’s deep Igbo heritage.
The concert, which ran from dusk till dawn, was a high-energy spectacle as JeriQ and a star-studded lineup kept the audience captivated. Renowned for his heartfelt lyrics and pride in his cultural roots, JeriQ delivered a standout performance that left fans in awe. His tracks, which highlight themes of perseverance and identity, resonated strongly with the diverse crowd.
The night featured electrifying appearances from top artists such as Blaqbonez, Bella Shmurda, Aguero Banks, and celebrated comedian Mr. Sabinus. Rising stars like Lord Zeus, Ema Odia, Mr. Bady, and Hevene also added their unique flair to the stage, ensuring a dynamic and memorable event.
First launched in 2022 at Okpara Square in Enugu, the JERIQ Hood Concert has grown into a major entertainment event. This year’s choice of Onitsha, JeriQ’s hometown, deepened the emotional connection for the artist and his audience. The concert continues to evolve, offering a platform for established and emerging talents while cementing its place as a staple in Nigeria’s entertainment calendar.
