The convener of the Cohesion Football Tournament, Damilare Obagbemi, has said the essence of the tournament is to instill discipline and values that would shape the future of the next generation using the power of soccer.
Fielding questions from newsmen during the draw for the sixth edition of the tournament on Saturday, November 30, in Lagos, Obagbemi stressed that the impact in the lives of participants is immeasurable.
He said, “We are committed to using the power of football to transform lives… inspiring the next generation to dream big, stay disciplined, and embrace the values that will shape a brighter tomorrow.
“As we kick off another edition, let us remember that every game is a step towards nurturing champions both on the field and in life.”
According to the organizers, the tournament features 40 under-15 male teams and four female teams, showcasing the growth and popularity of the event. The competition aims to harness the potential of underserved pre-teens aged 9 to 15, instilling values, skills, and leadership qualities necessary to thrive.
