Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, wearing the symbolic red cap of the Kwankwasiyya movement, attended the wedding ceremony of Aisha Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, daughter of the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, and her groom, Fahad Dahiru Mangal, son of Katsina business mogul Dahiru Mangal.
Obasanjo’s choice of attire drew attention, as the red cap signified solidarity with Kwankwaso and the Kwankwasiyya movement.
The high-profile event, held at the Kofar Kudu Emir’s Palace in Kano, attracted a host of prominent figures, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and former PDP National Chairman and ex-Bauchi Governor Adamu Mu’azu.
Also in attendance were serving and former governors, ministers, legislators, diplomats, business leaders, and political associates from across the country.
The Chief Imam of Kano State, Dr. Sani Zahradeen, officiated the wedding, solemnizing the union after a dowry of ₦1 million was presented. Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing the groom, handed the dowry to Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State, who stood in for the bride.
Following the solemnization, a grand wedding reception was held at the Kano State Government House, capping off the day’s celebrations in style.
