The Lagos State Government has scheduled the second phase of the Revalidation of Schools’ Examination Codes Exercise to take place from Monday, November 18th to Friday, December 13th. The exercise will be held at the Lagos State Examinations Board located in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

According to a statement by the Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu, this second phase aims to provide a critical opportunity for schools that failed to participate in the first phase, which ran from November 1st to November 28th, 2023. “This exercise became necessary to ensure that the Examination Codes of affected schools are validated,” Orunsolu noted.

He emphasised the importance of these codes, stating, “The codes are prerequisites for the eligibility of schools’ participation in schools-based examinations conducted by the Board.” The director also highlighted that the upcoming phase will allow the Board to collect essential data from schools yet to receive their Examination Codes.

Affected schools are required to bring specific documents to facilitate accurate data collection for proper documentation and planning to ensure the integrity of examinations in Lagos State. The necessary documents include an Approval Letter from the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, a Subject Recognition Inspection Report (SR), and a receipt for payment into the Central Billing System of the State. Additionally, schools must provide a receipt for the Unique Identification Code (School Code) and the last results collected, particularly if the school is dormant.

Orunsolu urged all stakeholders and authorities in the affected schools to be aware of the scheduled dates and to participate fully. “Schools must engage in this process to ensure that they are ready for the upcoming examinations,” he added.

The Public Affairs Officer, Lagos State Examinations Board, Onadipe Opebere, added that the announcement underscores the Lagos State Government’s commitment to maintaining high educational standards and facilitating a credible examination process for all schools within its jurisdiction.
