Osogbo – Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, on Wednesday, declared that his administration has delivered on his electioneering promise to the people of the state.
Speaking at Ipade Imole, an interactive programme with the people of the state, held at Aurora event centre in Osogbo, the governor said ongoing projects would be completed and new ones inaugurated.
He explained that his administration has constructed over 150km of roads, upgraded 200 primary healthcare centers across the state and renovated 99 schools with new learning facilities.
His words: “We paid N47 billion pension within two years; procured 31 tractors in the first phase to launch agric mechanisation and innovate a model agropreneur project to boost food security and create jobs.
“We launched the rehabilitation of key water works through new pipes, re-introduced bursary awards for Osun students and implemented mining reforms to secure Osun mining assets
“We reformed the public service for professionalism and service delivery; disbursed almost Four Billion Naira to the cooperative movement for small businesses. Our administration enrolled 29,000 retirees in state health insurance scheme. We launched massive infra upgrade of the state capital and key towns in the state and gave Osun its first ICT policy and Digital economy agenda;
“This administration stopped brain drain in the health sector by improving welfare of medical workers and executed over 300 local community development association projects in health, water, among others.”
The governor added that new projects would be Inaugurated by his administration in the second half of his administration to make life more meaningful for the people of the state.
“As we enter the second half of our tenure, we assure Osun people of timely completion of all ongoing projects across the State and initiate new ones. We will maintain our focus on both hard and soft infrastructure. I promise our people that we will not abandon any projects either started by us or inherited from the previous administration. By December, our government will unveil new elements of the five-point agenda, emphasizing soft infrastructure”, he added.
