Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has expressed gratitude to God for the grace given to his administration to complete projects initiated by his predecessor, Udom Emmanuel, with a focus on road infrastructure.

Speaking at the inauguration of the 10.519 km Mkpat Enin-Ikot Ubo-Ikot Ntot-Nkikara Road in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area (LGA), Governor Eno emphasized the importance of continuity in governance. He encouraged residents to remain supportive of the current administration and assured them of his commitment to rural development under his “ARISE Agenda.”

“We need to continue developing our rural communities—not just in Mkpat Enin, but across the state,” he said. “We are grateful to God for the grace to complete the projects from the last administration. This is why continuity in governance is so important. Without it, this project wouldn’t have been completed.”

He pointed out that the commissioning stone reflects the project’s origin in Udom Emmanuel’s administration and its completion in his own.

Local leaders also voiced their support, noting the positive impact of the road on economic activities. The Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Council, Mr. Emmanuel Inyang, called the project a testament to Governor Eno’s vision and commitment to the state. Speaking on behalf of local women, Mrs. Idara Akpan praised the governor for his commitment to rural development, emphasizing that the road would enhance access to economic centers for marketing farm produce.

Representing the youth, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilization, Comrade Iniobong Akpan, affirmed the youth’s appreciation for the governor’s leadership and pledged their continued support.
