
Gov Hyacinth Alia of Benue State

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain, Senator Barnabas Gemade has urged Benue people to rally round Governor Hyacinth Alia to ensure that he served two terms in office.
He also sued for the support of the people to enable the Governor achieve his development agenda for the state.
The elder statesman made the call Sunday at a thanksgiving/reception in honour of the Technical Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Media and Strategic Communication Mr. Solomon Iorpev who was earlier conferred the chieftaincy title of Akinde U Mbavaa at Tse-Agberagba, in Konshisha Local Government Area, LGA, of the state.
He noted that “Governor Alia has been selfless in providing purposeful leadership beyond the imagination of everyone and should be supported by all and allowed to serve the state as Governor for two terms.”
Senator Gemade assured the celebrant that he would continue to stand by him to serve the Governor effectively and urged him to also remain committed, resolute and selfless in the discharge of his responsibilities.
Earlier, the General Superintendent of Full Gospel Rival Crusade Church, Rev. Tom Igyah who noted that God uplifts people into positions of importance to achieve his purpose for humanity advised the celebrant to always live by God’s purpose in order to impact humanity positively.
The cleric advised the people to always return to God with thanksgiving to attract more blessings and promotions.
The celebrant in his response said the thanksgiving was to express his appreciation for God’s blessings and his elevation by Governor Hyacinth Alia who he said had given priority to the development of the state as evident in the rapid progress being made by the administration in all sectors.
He appealed to Benue people to always support the Governor in his unwavering commitment to turnaround the fortunes of the state and also ensure he secures a second term in office to continue with his good works.
The Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Benue State Council, Bemdoo Ugber who noted that the Technical Adviser deserved the honour given his impressive track record of achievement urged the people of Konshisha LGA to rally round him to do enable him more.
The Permanent Secretary, Government House Administration Mr. Bartholomew Ageraga appealed to young people to work hard and grow to be celebrated and not give their time and energy to social vices or abusing elders and leaders on social media.
