On Sunday, terrorists attacked the Oil Village in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, abducting the 9-year-old daughter of a local farmer.

While the police have yet to respond to the incident, a source informed Vanguard journalist that “The father, while commending security agencies for their prompt response, appealed to the government and well-meaning individuals to ensure his 9-year-old daughter, who was taken from his residence early Sunday morning, is rescued unharmed.”

The father, who wished to remain anonymous for security reasons, also requested that his daughter’s identity be withheld.

He recounted how the kidnappers, reportedly a four-man gang, arrived at around 11:45 p.m. on Saturday and departed around 1:00 a.m., taking his daughter with them.

The assailants reportedly gained access to the family’s residence, located in the Oil Village area of Chikun, by scaling the fence near the Kaduna Refinery Quarters. Once inside, two of them opened the gate to allow the other two to join. Initially, they attempted entry through the back and front doors, but ultimately broke in through a window to reach the 9-year-old’s room.

The father mentioned that he briefly spoke with one of the intruders through his window before men from the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVIS) arrived, prompting the kidnappers to flee.

Shortly afterward, the Nigerian Army arrived with two trucks of officers, followed by the police, but the terrorists had already escaped.
