SOKOTO; The  Zonal Coordinator of Nigeria Custom service Incharge of Zone “B” Assistant Comptroller General of Customs (ACG) Sambo Kaliel (Dangaladima) has held interaction session with Customs stakeholders in  Sokoto/Zamfara Area Command while on a working visit to the area command.

 The stakeholders at interaction with the ACG include, leaders of  Customs license Agents, Car dealers association of Nigeria Sokoto state chapter and National Association of Onion producers and marketer of Nigeria.

The  aims of the meeting according to the Command public relations officer Superintendent of Customs Abdullahi Tsafe Abubakar is to build a more efficient and effective  system of Trade Facilitation within the jurisdiction of the area command.

In his remarks ACG  Dangaladima  informed Stakeholders of the effort made by the service under the leadership of Comptroller General  Bashir Adewale Adeniyi  towards ensuring a hitch free trade Facilitation in line with world best practice.

 He said the renewed efforts by the service include  the deployment of trade facilitation tools such as Authorized Economic Operator programme (AEO), Time release studies (TRS) and Advance Ruling (AR) all geared towards strengthening international trade.

 He however urged stakeholders to fully comply and mindful of the Nigerian Customs extant laws.

The Sokoto/Zamfara Area Controller, Comptroller Kamal Mohammed  extol the ACG’s  commitment to excellence and unwavering support to the Command which has inspired officers and men of the area command.

He  further stated that, “Zone B  covers the largest landmass among four zones in the service, making comprehensive oversight of the zone difficult undue to so many challenges. ” No ACG has ever completed a full tour of all  Commands in the Zone, hence in defiance of such obstacles  ACG Dangaladima has made history as a result of his commitments to conduct assessment of Commands under his zone.

 Comptroller Kamal encouraged stakeholders to forward their observations suggestions, challenges and recommendations, adding that the ACG is a committed leader who relied heavily on their feedback.

The state Chairman of Sokoto state Association of Customs License Agents Alhaji Aminu Dan’iya enlogized the ACG for organizing such engagement which he said is the first of  its kind in the  last10 years.

He assured the ACG that his members would continue to be law abiding and compliant.

ACG Dangaladima while also holding a separate session with officers and men of the command  he advised them to be embodiment of the service with moto (justice and honesty)
