Group condemns killing of youths in Anambra

The SPC Youth Coalition Movement has expressed deep concern over the rising insecurity in Anambra State, particularly following the recent killing of over 12 youths by an alleged cult group in Nibo.

In a press statement released by Hon. Divine O. Ngobidi, Director of the movement, the group condemned the attack and criticized the state government’s response under Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.

In the statement shared on Onyekachi’s social media page, the group mourned the tragic loss of lives and called for immediate action, saying, “Our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, and we stand with the people of Nibo in this moment of grief. However, it is not enough to mourn; we must demand action and accountability.”

The movement highlighted the state’s escalating violence and accused the government of failing to protect its citizens. According to the statement, “The primary responsibility of any government is to protect the lives and property of its citizens, yet this administration has consistently failed in this regard.”

The group also urged the youths of Anambra to take control of their future as the gubernatorial election approaches, stating, “It is time for a new direction, one that prioritizes the safety, well-being, and empowerment of the people. We cannot afford to allow another leader who will turn a blind eye to our plight.”

The SPC Youth Coalition Movement demanded that the government investigate the Nibo killings and take concrete steps to improve security across the state. “Enough is Enough!” the statement concluded, underscoring their call for change and justice.

The incident in Nibo is part of a larger issue of insecurity that has plagued the state, leaving communities vulnerable and in fear. The call for new leadership reflects growing frustrations among the youth as the elections draw near.
