Jos – 205 pieces of collapsible walking canes have been provided to the students and teachers at the School for the Blind, Jabi, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.
The gesture is to alleviate the suffering of the visually impaired students of the school who need canes to ease their movements.
Presenting the items, the donor, Mr. Yusuf Yahaya-Kwande, who collaborated with his brother, Jemilu, and a group of friends to provide the canes, noted that the items will improved the living conditions of the beneficiaries in great measure.
His words, “We embarked on this mission as a commitment to make a difference in the lives of those who are going through unique challenges. This gesture goes far beyond the physical canes; it symbolizes a recognition of the potential of these students. I also believe in their ability to thrive despite their visual impairment.”
Receiving the items, the Principal of the School, Mrs. Uganden Ngunan, and the Head Boy, Godwin Lazarus, commended the gesture and stressed it would go a long way in easing their movements.
