Sultan of Sokoto, other monarchs offer condolences to Borno over flood

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has arrived in Maiduguri, Borno State, to pay condolences to the Emirate, people, and government over the recent devastating flood disaster.

Accompanied by prominent traditional leaders, including Etsu Nupe Alhaji Yahya Abubakar, the Sultan visited the Palace of Shehu of Borno and donated N50 million to the Borno Emirate Council.

During his visit to Government House Maiduguri, the Sultan sympathized with Governor Babagana Umara Zulum and the people of Borno, offering prayers for the repose of those who died and quick recovery of the injured.

This gesture follows a previous visit by the Sadaukin Sokoto, Engr. Muhammad Lawal Maidoki, who delivered food items and relief materials worth N30 million to alleviate the suffering of those affected.

The donations, contributed by notable individuals, included rice, garri, spaghetti, Maggi seasoning, and cooking oil. The Shehu of Borno and Governor Zulum expressed gratitude to the donors, praying for Allah’s reward.

This visit demonstrates unity and compassion among Nigeria’s traditional leaders in times of crisis.
