Governor Monday Okpebholo
Rising-Up for a United Nigeria (RUN), a civil society organization, has congratulated Senator Okpebholo Monday on his victory in the Edo State governorship election.
RUN urged Senator Monday to model his administration after the exemplary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
President Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor, is renowned for transforming Lagos into a modern state, laying a solid foundation that successive administrations have followed.
Similarly, Senator Akpabio, a former Akwa Ibom governor, has been instrumental in developing the state’s infrastructure, attracting international investments, and promoting tourism through projects like the Nest of Champions Stadium and Ibom Air.
Ambassador Solomon Adodo, RUN’s coordinator, commended Senator Monday on his well-deserved victory and encouraged him to emulate these leaders, creating a new Edo State that would be the envy of other states and a source of pride for Nigerians.
Adodo stated, “Your ascendance to power is a divine work, and you will deliver exceedingly, especially under a party with a well-tailored ideology and credible stalwarts.” He emphasized the importance of synergy with President Tinubu and Senator Akpabio, whose leadership has garnered global acclaim.
RUN also expressed gratitude to Senator Akpabio for ensuring a seamless campaign and victory, as well as to former Governor Adams Oshiomhole for his support.
Additionally, RUN praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a credible, fair, and transparent election in Edo State. They urged Nigerians to applaud INEC’s efforts and reject baseless criticisms.
“INEC has made significant progress, and we commend Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and his team,” Adodo said. “The Edo polls demonstrate our electoral process is maturing, and soon we’ll have hitch-free elections.”
RUN emphasized the need for patriotic Nigerians to cooperate with INEC, ensuring votes count and rejecting attempts to discredit the electoral process.
