A chieftain of the Labour Party ,LP, in Abia State,Dr. Ebere Uzoukwa, has slammed critics of Governor, describing them as those who don’t mean well for the state.

He explained that those attacking Otti are not doing so because they have a better alternative or a genuine concern for the welfare of Abia people,but are motivated by a desire to sabotage the Governor’s efforts to transform the state.

Uzoukwa, who is the Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to the Governor, stated this in an interview with Vanguard in Umuahia, in response to the recent attacks on Otti’s policies and actions, by those he described as agents of the PDP in the state.

He attributed the attacks as unwarranted and smear campaigns driven by mischief and meant to undermine the ongoing progress and transformation of the state.

He said; “Those who are attacking Governor Alex Otti are not doing so because they have a better alternative or a genuine concern for the welfare of Abia people. Rather, they are motivated by a desire to sabotage the Governor’s efforts to transform Abia State and improve the lives of its citizens.”

He disclosed that the Governor’s numerous achievements in critical sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure and agriculture, are evidences of his commitment to the development of the state.

“The Governor is  revitalizing the education sector by retrofitting and equipping schools and introducing innovative programmes to improve learninng, improve healthcare delivery by upgrading hospitals and health centers.He is also providing modern medical equipment, and training healthcare personnel, developing infrastructure by constructing and reconstructing roads, providing other essential amenities as well as promoting agriculture by providing support to farmers and improving agricultural practices, and increasing food production.

“The socio-economic advancements achieved under Governor Otti’s leadership include the empowerment of women through entrepreneurship and skills development programmes, creation of jobs and stimulating economic growth through investments in Small and Medium-Enterprises , SMEs, and improved security and reduced crime through intelligence gathering, surveillance and social intervention programs.

“Governor Otti is working tirelessly to build a better future for Ndi Abia, we will not let the enemies of progress distract us from this noble goal.”

He urged the people of the State to continue to support the Governor to achieve greatness for the state and overcome what he described as the ‘challenges orchestrated by the failures of the PDP’.
