“Poverty anywhere is a threat to prosperity everywhere.” ~Adams Oshiomhole as NLC President.
I’m
In my thoughts today
I wander around
Wondering of this thistle
Of the new red rain wetting
Our angry streets
Flashes of anger mob the streets
Deafening silence of power
An invocation of angry wailings
Flaring up across
Insipidly, the anger of hunger
Fanned the fire into a rustling
Flame of destructions
Growing red and red
Under basking burning sun
And theirs the lottery of
This timely death
From the grey boulders
I thought again about
The rock and its prisoner
Its mythical rose of deaths
Don’t blame the prisoner, but blame the rock
Trust, he cannot see suffering people
Through the haze of the rock
Then I wandered back
For
Not from too far away
Stood solidly the
Solidarity of hunger and anger
While on the horizon, anger
Flickers like red halo
This like others before
Will soon fade out
Become history, obligated
Leaving as before, a hallow
Solitary footprint for
Recurrence
Again and again and again
