Senator Dino Melaye has been accused of plotting a return to the All Progressives Congress, APC, after his outburst on X on Saturday.

Melaye accused the party’s leadership of destroying it beyond redemption and further said the party has been commercialised and privatised.

His joining the APC may, however, be unlikely as he had described anyone who dumps the PDP for the APC as a compound fool. If he does join the APC, he wouldn’t be a stranger as he was previously a member between 2014 to 2018 when he switched to the PDP.

An X user @Talk2warith commenting under his post calling out the PDP leaders shared a photo of the Senator with the current Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila and wrote, “Verbal agreement is 100% confirmed, as revealed in this picture. It’s a 3 year loan contract.  Here we go”

@Govmentson wrote “Argh.. they’re abandoning a sinking ship. When you collected money and sold PDP Presidential ticket.. you didn’t know then. When you forced yourself as candidate in Kogi election against party leaders wishes you didn’t know then. You only realize now that PDP is a sinking ship.”

@E_Mbuyazi asked “Are you switching camp to the APC?”

@DrOaikhena wrote “You were amongst the destroyers of the PDP in 2014. You dumped the party, joined the t*****s we have in government today and ultimately buried the PDP and Nigeria with your actions. So before you point fingers at others, check yourself first. Nigerians remember your role in the 2015 elections.”

@ChrissKelechi advised him to leave the PDP saying, “Dino, if you want to leave PDP, leave PDP. That party died over 8 years ago.”

Dino Melaye was PDP’s candidate for last year’s Kogi governorship election where he finished third. He was also a member of the national assembly
