A group under the aegis of the Movement for the Emancipation of ANIOMA Nation MEAN has thrown its weight behind Senator Ned Nwoko, PDP, Delta North for the creation of Anioma State.

In a statement signed on Saturday by the President of MEAN, Chief Asiedu Ayo and the Director of Orientation and pubbe enlightenment, Prince Ekhato Emmanuel Zelinjo respectively,

said that the creation of Anioma State creation is their only concern and that  Nigeria government can decide to zone them to the moon if it pleases the  country after the creation of the state.

The group hailed Nwoko for championing the cause for the creation of the state when other Senators before him never rooted for that.

The statement read, “We members of the Movement for the Emancipation of ANIOMA Nation MEAN is passing a vote of confidence on our dear senator Ned Mumr Nwoko who 1s our representative at the senate. We urge him to keep the flame of ANIOMA STATE burning.

“The Bill for the Creation of ANIOMA STATE is dear to the heart of every citizen from the Delta North senatorial District. We have been marginalized for so long under the current arrangement. We need ANIOMA STATE.

“Bayelsa has only eight (8) local government area and it’s a state of its own. Therefore, Delta North senatorial District which is ANIOMA STATE is bigger than Bayelsa and has nine local government areas 1s demanding through the law to have our own state. If we have Anioma state, we shall have senators from the different ethnic nationality from ANIOMA. There shall be Compulsory learning of Antoma language in Universities and all tertiary institutions in Anioma state. We are MEAN and we will continue to agitate ll we get Anioma state.

“We through our heroes past Ike Ifeaguna, Nzeogwu and others fought side by side with the easterners. Proximity and Language has United us despite slight historical difference of some ethnicity in Anioma due to Bini (xu) hentage yet we all speak the same language as the Easterners. Anioma knows the easterners will choose ANIOMA STATE. We are confident that the Easterners are in solidarity with us and are supporting the creation of ANIOMA STATE.

“This call to action for the creation of ANIOMA STATE is a demonstration of our determination to achieve ANIOMA STATE which is our goal.”
