Hail, It’s another World Environment Day,
Of course there’ll be endless speeches
Celebrated with ecstatic shouts of yay,
On glittering stages and packed pitches.
Beyond the likes, shares and reels,
Oh that there’d be a still small voice
That reveals what Mother Earth feels
Amid the rhetoric and melodious noise.
What part of dire don’t we understand
With unfolding, discordant climactic tunes
Mourning the decline of our Wonderland;
Receding seas, forests and dunes.
Can we be true and loyal to our home,
Love, tend and pledge not just money?
For even when miles on end we roam,
We’d return to resorts bare and ugly.
Hurray! It’s not all doom and gloom,
Hope is rising from fresh inspiration
Birthing commitment to the new bloom;
Everyone identifying as #generationrestoration.
