NLNG’s $4.3bn Train-7 project reaches 67% completion

Nigeria LNG Limited, NLNG, has announced significant progress in its $4.3 billion Train-7 project, with the construction reaching 67 percent completion.

The company in a statement by the General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development, Andy Odeh, said the project, which has achieved a remarkable 45 million man-hours without any Lost Time Injury (LTI), has employed over 9,000 Nigerians and generated numerous indirect jobs and businesses.

NLNG emphasized the project’s strategic importance in supporting Nigeria’s revenue diversification and energy transition goals. The company also highlighted the project’s role in monetizing the country’s vast gas resources, estimated at over 200 trillion cubic feet (tcf).

Speaking at a reconvened session of the Senate and House of Representatives’ Joint Committee on Gas, officials of the company provided necessary information and clarifications to address issues raised by the Committee.

NLNG urged all stakeholders, including the Federal Government and well-meaning Nigerians, to support the preservation of an enabling environment for the project’s successful completion and the attraction of more transformational projects to Nigeria.
