….Wants court to sack Aiyedatiwa

Reconciliation moves by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to persuade one of the governorship aspirants of the party in the just concluded primary in Ondo State, Senator Jimoh lbrahim, may have hit the rocks.

Vanguard gathered that the aspirant has pointedly told the committee members, who visited his Asokoro residence, in Abuja, to allow the court decide the matter, as regards the April 20 governorship primary election in the state.

Recall that Jimoh had approached a Federal High Court, in Abuja to invalidate the outcome of the primary election that produced Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as a candidate.

Alternatively, Jimoh, asked the court to remove APC from the ballot on November 16 governorship election.

Vanguard gathered that when the peace committee members, visited Jimoh, they persuaded him to withdraw his litigation against governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and allow peace reign in the state.

Jimoh reportedly told the members that to allow internal democracy in the party, the matter should be allowed to run its course till the Supreme court.

He was also said to have told the committee members that Aiyedatiwa was not ready for reconciliation as he was busy, surreptitiously sponsoring his suspension in the party for wanting internal democracy to strive within the party.

Recall that seven of the 15 aggrieved governorship aspirants have aligned with Aiyedatiwa and have agreed to support him in the November governorship election.

The seven aspirants include Mayowa Akinfolarin, Morayo Lebi, Professor Dayo Faduyile, Dr Soji Ehinlanwo, Prince Diran Iyantan, Dr. Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo, and Hon Jimi Odimayo.

They said that they have accepted the party’s decision in the interest of peace.

The seven aspirants, called all members of the party who have a genuine interest in the success of the party in the forthcoming general election in November to embrace peace for a resounding victory in the polls.

But many of the gladiators who participated in the primary have remained silent since they raised the alarm that the primary was a sham.

They include Chief Olusola Oke, Wale Akinterinwa, Olugbenga Edema, Hon lsaacs Kekemeke,Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele, Mrs. Funmilayo Waheed Adekojo and Engr. Funke Omogoroye.

Jimoh was quoted to have said he wanted the Supreme Court to decide the outcome of the primary election conducted by the Governor of Kogi state, Ahmed Ododo.

According to him “Femi Agagu, Victor Olabimtan, Ade Adetimehin, Sunday Abegunde (Abena), and Hon Festus Aregbesola got to my Asokoro residence at 6 pm and left at 11 pm begging.

“I told them to go in peace and allow the Supreme Court to decide the case since they had no good road map for reconciliation.”
