Remember F.A.C.T Tarynson a.k.a PKA Tarywest? The female singer and dancer who soared to fame in the 80s before withdrawing from public life to chase her other dreams.
Her looks then earned her the nickname of Nigerian Tina Turner. But the good news is that the singer is back with a new single titled, “ Teke Saki Laate.”

The single, which was released early this month on Audiomack, was coming 35 years after Tarynson’s disappearance from the country’s music scene.
Although the sonorous singer promised to chronicle her story in her forthcoming book, she’s, however, excited about returning to her first love-music.
Now a gospel singer, Tarynson’s new single produced by Kesh Ofuobi is a source of encouragement to people, urging them to always pray to God no matter the situation they find themselves in.
“I feel fulfilled coming back to music. It’s good to be back. I am back, not just as an artiste, but a record label owner,” Tarynson said, while in a chat with Showtime.

She described herself as ‘a conscious singer now’, and a record label owner with two artists as her signees.
Tarynson started off her career as a performing artist about 40 years ago. As a singer, she performed at nightclubs and big events including Poatson Musical Jamboree and Klass Nightclub. She also danced for groups including Farofa Dance Group, Wazobia Dance Group, Ojomo Dancers and Troupe Africana of Nigeria among others. While the ovation was loudest, she disappeared into thin air, only to resurface as an actress in 1989. And since then, she has held sway as an actress and a script writer.
Recounting her journey, she said, “ I started acting while I was in school. In 1987, I followed my group to NTA Channel 7 to present a drama. The drama was not accepted, but the producer discovered me. He singled me out of the lot and gave me a role in his TV series titled, “The Prince must Die” produced by Segun Bankole, who’s currently a pastor. It was a one off thing.I dumped acting and went back to music in 1984. I later returned to acting in 1986, and by 1991, I became famous because of my role in the popular TV series, Checkmate.”
Tarynson, who’s the immediate president of the the Screen Writers Guild of Nigeria,SWGN, said ‘Checkmate’ brought her fame, adding “I’m back to stay.”
