
Tamil actor Daniel Balaji, known for his roles in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema, is dead. The 48-year-old died on Friday of a suspected heart attack.
According to reports, Balaji was rushed to a private hospital in Chennai when he complained of chest pain. He reportedly died on his way to the hospital.
His remains has since been taken to his Purasawalkam home for final rites.

Daniel Balaji was born TC Balaj in Chennai to a Telugu father and a Tamil mother. He was the nephew of Kannada director Siddalingaiah. Daniel was his character’s name in the television show Chithi in his acting debut.
Balaji began his career in the film industry as a unit production manager for Kamal Haasan’s unreleased project, Marudhanayagam.
Despite his success as an actor, Balaji remained unmarried until his death. In an interview credited to him while he was alive, he said, “At the age of 25, I realised marriage wasn’t on the cards for me,”
Daniel Balaji starred in movies such as ‘Kaakha Kaakha,’ ‘Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu,’ ‘Polladhavan,’ and ‘Ariyavan,’ ‘April Maadhathil’ and ‘Kaadhal Kondein.’
