Indigenes of Patani local government area, Delta State, have lauded the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, and the lawmaker representing Patani/Bomadi Constituency in the House of Representatives, Nicholas Ebomo Mutu, over the massive road infrastructure embarked upon by the commission in various communities of the riverine council area.
Lauding the commission’s efforts in the area, former chairman of the Local Government Council and Executive Assistant to Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori on Public/Private Properties, Hon. (Barr) Brave Oyinkuro Enobeh, noted that the people of Patani were always grateful to the NDDC for her efforts, stressing the gesture was as a result of the influence of their representative at the National Assembly.
He said: “We are very happy and grateful to NDDC for the execution and completion projects in Patani local government area.
“We are happy with Hon. Nicholas Mutu because he is the brain behind all these NDDC projects in our local government area. He influenced these development projects from the commission and they are unequalled in terms of standards.
“Most of the roads you see in Patani local government area are influenced by him from the federal government, including water projects and other viable projects in Patani, and that’s why his support base is high in this local government area.
“Apart from the road projects, Mutu has contributed about one hundred computers to the Oporoza Grammar School and the Boy’s Model School in Patani town. We’re always grateful to him and no other politician has done what he has done so far.
“I want to add that Patani is more developed than Bomadi”.
Mr Ebitimi Aven, also applauding the efforts of NDDC in the LGA, noted that without the NDDC projects Patani would have been ten times backward in terms of development, stressing that all the NDDC projects in Patani LGA are the handiwork of Mutu.
“Projects such as Patani-Agoloma-Toru-Apelebiri-Angiama-Uduophori road, Agidi road Patani, solar powered water project in Patani and others spread across communities in the council area.
“More so, the Mutu Foundation has trained the youth and women on various vocational trainings, including fish farming and others, as well as his medical outreach programme that has been taking care of the sick in the constituency. Anything NDDC projects in Patani LGA is Mutu”, he said.
However, Mutu, in his reaction, said: “My constituency needs infrastructural and human capital development and I will always do my best for my people”.
