Nigerian financial technology, fintech company Pryme has appointed Mrs. Ronke Sokefun as its board chairman.
It also added Mr. Funmi Augusto to the company’s board.

The fintech firm expressed optimism in the two appointments stating that the combined expertise of the new appointees will be instrumental in formulating the strategic direction required to achieve its goal of becoming the preferred financial service provider for every young African and the world at large.
Prior to their appointments, Augusto started his career at Arthur Andersen (now KPMG Professional Services), where he spent over eight years working in the audit and business advisory units.

In 1992, he left Arthur Andersen to co-found IBFC Limited, which later in 1999 merged with the business consulting department of Agusto & Co. Limited to form Alliance Consulting.
With over 30 years of experience in financial analysis, stock market analysis, asset and liability management, country risk analysis, credit analysis/risk management, and investment analysis/appraisal.
Also, Sokefun graduated with LLB (Hons.) in 1987 and was called to the Nigerian Bar (also with honors) in November 1988. She has had a sterling career spanning over three decades, cutting across different sectors of the economy.
Sokefun’s work experience spans over 30 years across the private and public sectors, some of which include, but are not limited to, serving as the immediate past board chairman of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (‘NDIC’), currently a board member at Oando PLC, which is one of Africa’s leading energy solutions providers. She also sat on the board of the telecom giant, Celtel/Zain (now Airtel). She served in this position until 2011, when she was called to public service in Ogun State and proceeded to serve as a 2-term commissioner, holding diverse portfolios.
She is a fellow of the Institute of Directors, a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators, the Nigerian Bar Association, the International Bar Association, and the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.
