Despite the imposition of no movement due to the rerun elections, roadside marketers still displayed their goods in Jalingo, the state capital.

While some major roads were deserted, others were busy with the movement of tricycles and private-owned vehicles.

From Mayo-Gwoi down to Road Block, people were displaying their goods for passersby.

This was in defiance of the order of no movement and the presence of security operatives in strategic positions across the metropolis.

In most polling units visited across Jalingo, the state capital, there was a low turnout of voters for the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency election.

It was also observed that ad hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, were present and had been out since 7 a.m. for the election exercise.

Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Sadiq Tafida, who spoke after voting at 007 Lamurde primary school, Jalingo, frowned at the low turnout.

Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Area, Aminu Hassan Jauro, who also spoke after casting his vote, commended INEC and expressed confidence that his party, the PDP, would emerge victorious.
