IREE – The newly elected Aree of Iree in Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State, Prince Muritala Oyelakin has called on the sons and daughters of the town to forget their differences in a bid to develop the community.
It would be recalled that Governor Ademola Adeleke had through government white paper, dethroned the Aree Oba Raphael Oluponle and order a new selection process subject to withdraw of existing litigation in the matter.
However, in a statement issued by the new Aree-elect and made available to newsmen in Osogbo on Thursday, he urged stakeholders in the community to not allow their differences consume the development of the community.
While assuring the community of his commitment to serve with all his might, he sought their cooperation in a bid to place the town on the path of development.
“I, Ibraheem Muritala Oyelakin of the Oyekun dynasty in the Iree kingdom, do solemnly swear by the gods of the 7 hills in Iree kingdom to be a servant leader and not a draconian ruler.
“We all need to bury our past either full of differences, calamities or fairly tales. The bond that strength us is stronger than the differenceas that almost consume us”, the statement reads partly.
