The Chinese Community in Nigeria has donated essential items to Bethesda Home for the Blind in Lagos and other low-income earners.

The items included food items, toiletries and other household supplies.

They also extended their supports to low-income families in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State as part of their ongoing commitment to helping those in need.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Funmilayo Olowokere, received food items and a sum of N100,000 to support her business.

This came after they sponsored the surgery of her eight-year-old son, Israel Olowokere, who suffered from cataracts.

Leader of the Chinese Community delegation, Dr. Eric Ni, said: “This action of giving is not a singular event but a regular practice for the Chinese Community, we believe in supporting the less-privileged within society and we have consistently demonstrated our commitment to make a positive impact in the lives of others.”

In her remarks, Director of the Bethesda Home for the Blind, Mrs Chioma Ohakwe, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese Community for their unwavering supports.

She also acknowledged the Chinese Community’s regular contributions, emphasized the significant impact it has had on improving the lives of the residents at the home.

Meanwhile, the delegation visited the palace of the Obateru of Egbin Kingdom in Ikorodu, Oba Abdul-Akeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo, to pay homage to the monarch.
