Comrade Evidence Igere is a name that is becoming increasingly familiar in Delta State’s political landscape. Born on June 1, 1986, he hails from the humble family of late Chief Clifford Aburu Igere of Ekroda, Jesse, and late Mrs. Rebecca Igere, from the family of Obukowho Adegor of Idjedaka/Boboroku in Idjerhe Kingdom.

From an early age, Evidence Igere displayed promise and potential. He completed his primary education at Jéssé Primary School, Jéssé Town, and continued his education at Anointment Group of School and Idjerhe Grammar School, where he obtained his Junior and Senior Secondary School Certificates, respectively.

Driven by his thirst for knowledge, Evidence Igere pursued higher education at the Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, where he obtained a National Diploma in Computer Engineering. He further enhanced his skills by obtaining a Higher National Diploma in Computer Engineering in 2014 and General Health, Safety and Environment (General HSE) and HSE level3 Certificates from the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPoN) Lagos State in May 2015. His quest for academic excellence led him to the University of Benin, where he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Production Engineering in 2018/2019 academic session. 

Evidence Igere’s commitment to service is evident in his involvement in various capacities. During his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ekiti State, he served as an Information Communication Technology (ICT) teacher at Amoye Grammar School, Ikere in 2015/2016. He also gained practical experience as a computer engineer at Izaco Computing and ICT centre, Abraka, Delta State in 2012.

Not content with his achievements, Evidence Igere is currently pursuing a Masters degree in electrical/electronics Engineering (in-view) at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State.

Evidence Igere’s passion for service extends beyond the realm of education. He has actively participated in grassroots mobilization through the Idjerhe Youths Movement, a movement he co-founded. The movement aims to positively impact the lives of youths and encourage their participation in politics for societal development. Through door-to-door campaigns and grassroots campaigns, Evidence Igere and the Idjerhe Youths Movement have played a significant role in the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ethiope West Local Government Area.

Notably, Evidence Igere has undertaken numerous community development initiatives, including distributing educational materials to public primary and secondary schools in Idjerhe Kingdom and neighboring communities.

Evidence Igere’s dedication and competence caught the attention of Olorogun (Barr.) John Obukowho Nani, who appointed him as a Media and Publicity Aide under the office of Executive Director, Finance & Administration, DESOPADEC. He later served as Special Assistant to former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Community Development.

Currently, Evidence Igere is a member of the DESOPADEC Social Media Team at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission.

His unwavering commitment to the PDP and his ability to mobilize youths led to his recognition as the Youth Mobilizer of the Year in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

In addition to his political endeavors, Evidence Igere has also made strides in the private sector. He works as a General Manager at Emoisaella Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited and also a member of the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG).

Evidence Igere’s remarkable journey and commitment to service have positioned him as a rising leader in Delta State. His dedication to his communities and his desire to make a difference in the lives of the people of Ethiope West Local Government Area are evident in his actions and accomplishments.

As the Executive Chairman of Ethiope West Local Government Area, Evidence Igere is poised to utilize his knowledge, energy, and passion to bring about positive change. His leadership trajectory and the recognition he has received as a Youth Mobilizer of the Year demonstrate his ability to mobilize and inspire others.

In 2024, with the support, nomination and votes of the people of Ethiope West, Evidence Igere has the opportunity to become the next Local Government Chairman. This pivotal moment in history presents a chance for him to further contribute to the development and progress of his local government Area. 

Evidence Igere’s youthfulness, dynamism, and vision make him a shining example of leadership. His commitment to serving his people is unwavering, and he is driven by a deep desire to make a difference. With his family by his side, Evidence Igere continues to work tirelessly to create a better future for the people he represents.

Evidence Igere’s journey is a testament to the power of determination, hard work, and a genuine desire to serve. He has proven himself to be a capable upcoming leader who is dedicated to the well-being of his People. As he embarks on the next chapter of his leadership, the future looks promising for him and the people of Ethiope West Local Government Area.
