Its remarkable 45% year-over-year growth rate is the largest worldwide, and it demonstrates the continent’s influence in the global tech industry.

This surge in open-source innovation is a game-changer for Africa’s digital transformation. By leveraging open-source solutions, African businesses can significantly reduce costs. A study found that businesses utilising open-source software can dramatically cut IT expenses by avoiding expensive licensing fees.

Furthermore, open-source platforms offer African developers a unique opportunity to collaborate with global peers, share knowledge, and showcase their expertise. This not only fosters innovation but also empowers local communities to develop and deploy solutions tailored to address the continent’s most pressing challenges.
