Discussing the thematic essence of his film and the profound message it conveys to its audience, Morakinyo elaborated, saying, “The movie ‘Rebirth’ delves into the deep wellsprings of emotion and existential questioning that surface when confronting adversity and embarking on the quest for life’s meaning. As Africans, we firmly believe that our life circumstances are shaped by past actions or even past lives.
This thought-provoking concept infuses richness into our storytelling. With my film, I aspired to communicate a potent message of cultural pride, authenticity, and the treasure trove of indigenous storytelling. My intention was to evoke emotions of connection, understanding, and a heightened appreciation for our heritage.”
