She Code Africa ignited a wave of creativity and collaboration on October 12, 2023, when it hosted its “InnovateHER: Product Mastery Bootcamp” in Lagos.

From the moment the doors opened at the coworking space in Yaba, aspiring women technologists buzzed with anticipation, ready to transform bold ideas into tangible prototypes.

At the heart of the day’s energy was volunteer Product Manager Sefinat Hussein, whose insightful guidance and hands-on demonstrations helped participants navigate the complexities of defining user stories, prioritizing features, and crafting minimum viable products.

Under Sefinat’s tutelage, attendees tackled real-world challenges, refining problem statements and mapping user journeys on whiteboards lined with colorful sticky notes. Her passion for human-centered design shone through as she shared anecdotes from her own career, moments of triumph, lessons from setbacks, and the importance of relentless curiosity.

As teams presented their prototypes at the workshop’s close, the room hummed with accomplishment. What began as abstract concepts had blossomed into interactive wireframes and clickable mockups.

By the end of the day, “InnovateHER: Product Mastery Bootcamp” had equipped participants with practical product management tools and fostered a supportive community eager to uplift one another.

Thanks in no small part to volunteers like Sefinat Hussein, She Code Africa continues to pave the way for the next generation of women leaders in tech, ensuring every idea, no matter how nascent, finds its path to real-world impact.
