As cyber threats and competitive pressures intensify in the global eCommerce sector, Nigerian tech entrepreneur, Temitope Fatunmbi is positioning her company, Hustle, as a critical infrastructure provider for digital retailers seeking both growth and resilience.

Fatunmbi, a specialist in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, and quantum computing, is leading efforts to transform how online businesses defend against fraud and engage customers. Her company’s flagship offerings—ranging from quantum-enhanced encryption to AI-powered personalization—have been rapidly adopted by mid-sized retailers and enterprise marketplaces.

“eCommerce platforms are no longer just digital storefronts, they’re dynamic ecosystems. The systems behind them must be as adaptive as the customers who use them”, she stated.

At the heart of Hustle’s technology stack is Hustle IQ, a quantum-enhanced recommendation engine capable of analyzing customer behavior at granular and contextual levels—including mood shifts, sentiment analysis, and real-time economic conditions. The system reportedly boosts conversion by delivering hyper-relevant product suggestions beyond standard algorithmic matching.

Fatunmbi’s approach is also reshaping eCommerce cybersecurity. Her company’s dynamic fraud detection system uses reasoning-based models to predict and prevent attacks—an upgrade from legacy rules-based defenses. These include quantum encryption protocols and AI anomaly detectors that adapt to evolving threats.

“Most fraud systems are rules-based. Ours are reasoning-based. They don’t just spot what’s wrong; they model the attacker’s logic and stay a step ahead.

One  of our multinational retail clients, a  reported a 22% increase in conversions and a 30% reduction in chargebacks within six months of integrating Hustle’s tools,” she added.

As eCommerce remains a prime target for AI-driven cyberattacks—accounting for over half of such incidents in 2023, according to IBM—Hustle’s innovations are attracting attention across the tech and retail sectors.

Beyond the technology, Fatunmbi is vocal about AI ethics in commercial platforms. She is a proponent of explainable AI and has called for regulation to ensure that automated systems in eCommerce are transparent and accountable.

“If an algorithm impacts a purchase or blocks a transaction, the customer deserves to know why,” she said. “Transparency builds trust, and trust is the currency of digital commerce.”
