Ahead of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s second term swearing-in ceremony tomorrow (Monday), the Ogun State Police Command has warned against throwing the state into confusion.
The Police in a statement by Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the command has put adequate security measures in place to ensure a hitch-free swearing-in ceremony.
Oyeyemi explained that the State Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Oladimeji, has put all the command’s tactical teams, Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers on red alert to nip in the bud, any act of violence capable of disrupting the ceremony in any part of the state.
According to Oyeyemi, 24-hour surveillance patrol has been ordered across the state to checkmate the activities of any hoodlum nursing any violent act in his mind.
“The Command hereby appeals to parents and guardians to warn their children and wards not to allow themselves to be used by anybody to cause mayhem anywhere in the state, as anybody who attempts to do so will have the police and other security agencies to contend with,” he stated.
The police said they would not allow anybody, no matter how highly placed, to throw the state into confusion
