The Chairman Isoko South Local Government Council, Hon. Victor Asasa has reacted to an online publication alleging non-performance to merit an award recently bestowed on him by TNNTV News Channel. 

In a statement by his Media Consultant, Asasa described the publication as malicious and a figment of the writer’s imagination. 

He accused the reporter of concocting baseless comments against his administration, adding that those who were impressed by his achievements were much more than those allegedly against his success.

He listed his achievements within the last few months and urged the general public particularly the people of Isoko South to discountenance the publication as it was not a true reflection of the state of affairs. 

According to him, we have been inundated by a certain publication by an online newspaper, where they alleged that the Chairman did not merit the recent award given to him by TNNTV News Channel. 

“To set the records straight, the Chairman never solicited for any award, TNNTV carried out their private investigation and it was observed that we have achieved quite a lot in the short time we have held sway hence their decision to bestow the award on me.” 

He listed some of his achievements to include renovation of Oleh main abattoir and provision of solar lights around the abattoir, provision of solar powered lights at Yanga market Oleh and Irri evening market. 

Provision of weed control spray cans for 200 women farmers across the local government area and Free health treatment for rural dwellers in the local government. 

The Chairman further said his administration acquired a permanent dump site for the local government council and resolution of crisis between land owners and oil companies in Oleh community. 

“We also carried out renovation of DPO’s quarters, furnishing of the 181 Amphibious Battalion in Oleh and the recent inauguration of Isoko South Neighborhood Watch, a security network initiative to fight crime in the local government,” he stated. 

The Chairman said the Council under his leadership recorded these achievements within a short period of time despite the poor financial status of the Council. 

“Let me urge the good people of Isoko South Local Government Area to disregard the said malicious publication as it was not just preposterous but mendacious,” he stated.
