Owolabi Oluwasegun, known professionally as X-Lyte, is a Nigerian musician, songwriter, and businessman born in Ekiti State, Nigeria, on the 14th of April, 1996, to a music-loving household.

From findings, X-Lyte is smitten by music, which he regards as a freebie from the universe and a duty that he must fulfill. Quite apart from music, he appears to be running a variety of businesses and is always on the hunt for new business endeavors in Africa.

His voyage into music, even so, began at an early age through his mother, who was a well-known conventional vocalist in Ekiti at the time. He would periodically accompany her on stage during her performances.

Since then, X-Lyte has developed strong opinions about music during these times. As a performer, his target is to reach out to the rest of the world with his music, and he plans to do so through revitalizing live shows. Discriminatory practices seen between A list and newly announced artists are, in his opinion, the existing hurdles of music in Nigeria.

In their pursuit to be featured by an A-list artist, he claims that most upcoming artists have been defrauded. This had happened to him a few times before, and he believes that the sector should be regulated properly.

He performs Afropop because he understands music is an interplay of African tunes and contemporary factors. As a result, he is proud of his deep musical roots, and his first musical experience was wholly African.

Finally, he claims that good music is addictive because it unites us to others and involves selecting common emotions. Rebalancing, complexities, melody, rhythm, and harmony are the key elements in a good sound for me.

His new EP, on the other hand, is a unique blend of Afro-pop, and his fans have experienced a profound connection with the songs. For example, “Broke 2 Boss” describes how his life had changed for the better.
